Wow Seville. I knew I’d enjoy this city but I didn’t realise just how much I would love it. The gorgeous architecture and the great atmosphere contribute to that feeling. However, it’s the food and the drink that really made this city somewhere I want to go back to. There are tapas bars dotted around everywhere and to make it even better, they’re all really good value. Especially when you’re sharing a few different dishes with friends.
Not only are there tapas bars but there’s also some cool little places to grab ice cream and cakes.
This list of places to eat in Seville is by no means exhaustive and I’m sure you’ll find some more great places to enjoy food and tapas in Seville. However, these are the places I really enjoyed and wanted to share so you can enjoy them too!

For a bite to eat before visiting places like the Plaza d’Espana and the Real Alcazar, take a seat at Bar Restaurant Las Lapas. Order a tinto de verano and a plate of their eggs scrambled with chorizo and enjoy in the sun.

If I have a talent for anything, it’s hunting down good ice cream, or in this case, authentic italian gelato. And the gelato at Mito was so incredibly smooth and tasty.
I actually had two while I was here, a cone with salted caramel and vanilla gelato and then a second cone with mango and yoghurt gelato. There are many ice cream places around Seville, but please visit this one. Any future holiday ice creams and gelatos I have will be compared to this place.

On my few days in Seville, I visited this place twice. I loved grabbing a Pasteis de Nata and coffee to take away before taking a seat in the sun at Plaza de Nuevo.
The Pasteis de Nata from here are incredible. I’ve yet to try the real deal in Portugal but I really hope they’re like these. Light flaky pastry with a gooey, drippy, sweet centre. I did a lot of my plotting on how to move to Seville while eating these treats. And the coffee, wow. It was good. The perfect morning pick me up.

Out of all the places we ate tapas on our visit to Seville, I think this was my favourite. Across the river in an area called Tirana, Cafe Bar Tirana is a bit of a walk if you’re focusing your visit just around the centre of Seville. However, if you have some time and want to explore Tirana, definitely go here for food. The grilled pork, the fried fish, the tomato and fish are all delicious. What a treat all the food here was.

I know, don’t hate me. Another Pasteis de Nata place. This was an afternoon treat and I had to compare to the other place, purely for research purposes obviously.
They’re just as delicious from here. Maybe not as runny but that could be to do with the fact we ate this in the afternoon.

This place. Out of all the places to eat in Seville, you have to go for breakfast at Bodega Santa Cruz. Get the bread with jamon and tomato, and a cafe con leche and you’ll have a good start to the day.
It doesn’t look like much from the outside but trust me, the breakfast is good. And for under €3, its so cheap too.

Off the main street down from Seville Cathedral, Casa Tomate is a great place for an evening drink with a bit of tapas. It’s great here too if the weather is a bit cooler, the heaters will keep you warm. The quiet street Casa Tomate is on too is great for people watching.

This was the first place we ate in Seville. Purely because we arrived late in the evening and it was down the road from our air bnb. But, what a great little place for a late night drink and tapas. Here we had the octopus and pig cheek which were both delicious.

One place that remains open throughout the day for food, rather than shutting mid afternoon, is Bar Reyes Antonio Romero.
Stop here during your day for a plate of croquetas and some expertly sliced jamon iberico. And whether you sit inside or outside, there’s plenty of atmosphere in here with a mix of locals spilling out of work for the day, and tourists wanting a good plate, or three, of food.

I don’t know about you, but I love a good food market when I’m on holiday. And Mercada de Triana did not disappoint. There are a few places where you can sit and enjoy some tapas with a glass of chilled wine. However, I’d fully recommend picking up a few cones of food as you meander around the stalls. Then, there’s also a few dessert stalls where you can pick up a sweet treat for after.

I visited here on the rainiest afternoon in Seville. It was pouring it down so we all huddled under an umbrella at Taperia Alcaiza to shelter from the weather. And while we were at it, we ordered octopus with fried potatoes, croquetas, pork and rice, and calamari. I didn’t think the food would be up to much, the inside of Taperia Alcaiza didn’t really look that great, but the food was so good. I’d go back just to eat the octopus and potatoes. But hopefully the sun would be out this time.

We didn’t plan to eat at Las Golondrinas. We were actually heading to Cafe Bar Triana but, you know, it was time for a drink and having a drink also means trying out a bit of food. We shared the grilled squid with green sauce, which was just chef’s kiss delicious.
