Port de Soller is a pretty stylish part of Mallorca. The marina is full of million dollar yachts, there are great restaurants lining the bay, and it’s an ideal location from which to explore Mallorca’s Traumuntana mountain range.
And a stay at Bikini Island and Mountain Hotel in Port de Soller is a beautiful base to rest your head in between days in the mountain towns or just by the hotel’s oh-so cool pool and bar area. With bohemian vibes and a free spirit feel, Bikini Hotel Mallorca is for those that want to truly get away from it all. Sun yourself under the long grass shades. Grab a watermelon cooler from the Pikkini Pool Bar. Swim away in a pool so blue it’ll become a centrepiece for any Instagram photos you take.
There are a variety of rooms at Bikini Island Hotel either in the main block or the Bay House. These are the Garden Room, Bay House Room, Bayside Room, Bayside Plus Room, Poolside Room, Bay House Suite and Bayside Suite. Each come with a Nespresso coffee maker and a Lonely Planet Mallorca guide for those days on exploring.
We stayed in a Bay House Room where we could enjoy the the sun streaming through the curtains in the morning. The room and balcony also provided an ideal retreat after a day in the sun. The comfortable beds come with pillows that say “Make Love, Not War” fitting into the hotel’s hippie 60s theme.
There are also unique touches such as an old style telephone, Ultimate Ears Wonderboom Bluetooth speakers, and incense cones which are perfect to use on the huge balcony. Also included is complimentary use of the oh-so-cool WOUF beach bags and SimoneetGeorges beach towels just incase you forgot to pack yours! Rattan lounge chairs and a hammock complete the outdoor area and white flowing curtains give you some privacy.
In the bathroom you’ll find ILoveEcoEssentials body care products so there’s no need to bring your own from home. This stuff is so good and the shower gel smelt like mint humbugs! YUM.

In an evening, wander up to Donkey Bar where you can enjoy one of the hotel’s many specialist drinks. If you’re not sure what to have, the bartenders can whip you up something based on what you usually drink. Soak up the views of Port de Soller with a tipple and then go for dinner at NENI Mallorca.
Mediterranean mixed with middle eastern tastes are the flavour of NENI Mallorca’s menu and although the menu isn’t huge, there’s a good variety and every dish is prepared with packs of flavour.
I tried the fried chicken salad and the mascarpone mousse for desert. Each was absolutely delicious – the perfect place to enjoy an evening with great service as the cherry on top.

Even if you don’t go for dinner at NENI Mallorca, as a guest of Bikini Island And Mountain Hotel, you’ll get to enjoy breakfast in the same location.
Go early if you can to grab a table by the balcony to slowly watch the world wake up. Enjoy beautiful sunrise views over the bay while taking your pick from the vast breakfast buffet.
There’s plenty of choice including freshly baked bread, a selection of tortillas, meat, cheese and fruit, home-made granola and seeds, and there’s even cake for those who want something a little sweeter in the morning.
Some of my favourite things about Bikini Island and Mountain Hotel was the décor. I loved the thoughtful touches that go into the interior. The amount of times I picked something up saying “I wonder where this is from?” with the wish to bring it home.
Everything looks to have been picked out with care and it makes the hotel very homely without creating a cluttered feel.
Most of all though, I like the chilled out vibe and the fact that you can spend a day here and not get bored. Filling myself with good breakfast food, swimming in the pool while relaxing tunes float through the air, getting a massage at the hotel spa – highly recommended by the way…

It’s about a 5-10 minute walk into Port de Soller. There are steps directly into the hotel from one of the main roads down to the port so you don’t have to walk up and down a twisty, hilly road.
The Pikini Pool Bar not only serves drinks but also poolside snacks and meals – there’s a separate seating area for food if you don’t want to eat at your sunlounger. Equally if you want sweet potato fries with guacamole delivered straight to you – go for it!
There is a small car park at the hotel but there’s plenty of on street parking too if you’re driving a hire car. If you’re into your fitness too, you can make use of the rooftop gym where you’ll find medicine balls, free weights and TRX ropes. The hotel also put on free yoga sessions throughout the week if you want to feel really zen.
Citronella candles and incense sticks are provided when you want to sit on your balcony in an evening. There’s also a shop in the reception full of Bikini ware just incase something catches your eye…
All in all, staying here was a bit of a splurge. But to stay in a beautiful hotel in Mallorca where effort has been put into the interior, the service is good, everything is convenient and the location is spot on, I’d say it’s worth it. For our holiday it provided the best base to relax, and explore from too.
