Bath is one of the most beautiful places in the UK to spend a weekend. Relax in the spa, wander around the city enjoying the architecture, or shop until you drop around the high street and many of the city’s independents.

On our few days in Bath, we were able to try a few coffee shops but there are also plenty more on the list for next time! Here are the best coffee shops in Bath to visit next time you’re in town!

Tried and Tested Coffee Shops In Bath

Cortado

Ran by Fran and Sophie, an Argentinian/British couple, Cortado serves up specialty coffee alongside Argentinian empanadas if you’re feeling peckish. I didn’t try any empanadas (although the table next to us did and they looked delicious!) but the coffee here is the perfect mid-morning pick me up.

Using local suppliers such as Easy Jose, Bertinet Bakery, Larkhall Butchers and Bath Soft Cheese Company, Cortado is conscious about its effect on the environment so they make sustainable choices where they can. If you bring your own cup to use, you get a discount on your order. Definitely pin this on your Google maps when trying out coffee shops in Bath!

Top tip: Cortado’s mocha is a great treat with a sprinkling of real chocolate on top!

Address: 7 Bridge St, Bath, BA2 4AS, UK

Opening times:
Monday – Friday: 8am – 4.30pm
Saturday: 9am – 5pm
Sunday: 9am – 4.30pm

Cortado’s Menus

Cascara

A cosy place with a menu full of delicious coffee, smoothies and tea, Cascara was the perfect bolthole for us on a rainy morning in Bath. Women owned and LGBTQ+ friendly, Cascara is also vegan friendly and an inclusive place where everyone can enjoy a sweet treat.

We sat in the window as we watched the world go by but there’s also seating upstairs!

Address: 3 Upper Borough Walls, Bath, Somerset BA1 1RG

Opening times:
Monday – Saturday: 8am – 4:30pm
Sunday: 10am – 4pm

Watch House Bath

Watch House Bath calls itself the place of “Modern Coffee” and it is just that. With a slick and stylish interior, coffee served on wooden boards and fancy chocolate sold on the counter, Watch House Bath is super instagrammable and, if you’ve visited London, you might just recognise them from one of their many locations in the capital city. This location in Bath is actually their first outside London!

With lovely seats at the window and more seating upstairs and outside, this coffee shop in Bath is a great place to catch up with friends or to just watch the world go by. And, if you really like their coffee, you can buy in store or hop on line to pick up some beans or even subscribe to one of their gift subscriptions – either for someone else or yourself!

Address: 8 Old Bond St, Bath, BA1 1BW

Opening times:
Monday – Friday: 7:30am – 6pm
Saturday and Sunday: 8am – 6pm

Quiet Street Coffee

Tucked away on Quiet Street, (opposite The Raven pub if you fancy a drink of something more alcoholic) Quiet Street Coffee was the first coffee shop we tried in Bath. Pop in for their oat milk chai latte – one of the best I’ve tried and ideal if you like them more on the sweet side. They also do mini hot chocolates for kids and a big range of coffee to try!

Address: 3 Quiet St, Bath BA1 2JS

Opening times: Monday to Sunday: 9:30am to 5pm

Mokoko Coffee

Mokoko Coffee is right in the city centre so is the perfect pitstop for a coffee in Bath. Mokoko’s coffee is seasonally sourced from places like Ethiopia, Uganda, Brazil and Peru so you’re guaranteed to be served what’s best at that moment in time. Mokoko also has a bakery making fresh goods so you know all those pastries in the window are going to be delicious.

We didn’t try any baked goods but we did try a drink to enjoy in the seating area upstairs and I wish we’d had time to go back. This place is definitely one to go back to and they even have locations in Bristol and Portishead!

Address: 6 Abbey Churchyard, Bath, BA1 1LY

Opening times:
Sunday to Friday: 9am – 5pm
Saturday: 9am – 6pm

Mjolk

Inspired by the Swedish concept of “fika”, Mjolk is ran by Somerset-born Chris and Swedish-born Hanna, a couple that met in Australia and opened up Mjolk right in the heart of Bath.

The couple want guests to take time out to really enjoy a coffee and cake with friends and we did just that. As well as delicious warm drinks, Mjolk have some very pretty cakes (their cinnamon buns are so, so good) and scandinavian inspired sandwiches!

Address: 13 Abbey Churchyard, Bath BA1 1LZ

Opening times:
Sunday to Thursday: 8.30am – 5.30pm
Friday and Saturday: 8.30am – 6.30pm
