I guess you’re here because you’d like to know a little bit more about me? Well, here you are…

Who am I?

Well, my name is Emma. I’m 33 years old.

I live in Leeds but I’m from Huddersfield and I have a regular 9-5 job which I really enjoy. I’m not about to quit any time soon to try out the digital nomad life. I love my regular pay check and writing this blog when I have a spare few hours.

I go on holiday in the UK and abroad. And I love doing both. The UK has so many great places to visit but I need some guaranteed sunshine at least once a year. So, that’s when I hop on a plane to explore the world one bit at a time.

If I could eat one food for the rest of my life, it would be pizza. And yes, I do think ham and pineapple is a good combination. But a simple marinara is always my weakness.

When I was 22, I booked a one way ticket to Australia. After spending a month in Hong Kong, I lived in Sydney for a year and had the best time of my life. It was 10 years ago and I’m still banging on about it.

I like to go for walks. Getting outdoors is such a good way to enjoy the countryside and to clear the mind.

Okay, enough about me. What’s this blog about?

This blog is about travelling the world around a 9-5 job. But because I live in Leeds, there’ll be a healthy dash of Yorkshire and UK adventure thrown in too. I know there are a ton of you working Monday to Friday. I know you probably save money to go on holiday. You guys probably even find cool places in the UK to visit between going on those adventures abroad. I do all those things too. And this blog aims to help you and give you a ton of inspiration on how to get the most out of your FREEDOM time from work.

Paper Planes and Caramel Waffles also includes journal entries because a) I need to write about my random thoughts sometimes and b) Because I’m nosey and I love journal style blog posts – I thought you might like them too

It’s all about relishing life both at home and away. We work hard, so why not enjoy it? And enjoying it can be as simple as going for a walk along the canal before going home to enjoy a movie night in front of the fire, or it could be doing that trip to that oh-so-cool hotel in the middle of a city that doesn’t sleep.
